XIII. Death

The watercolor-graphic work is made in an abstract-surrealistic manner in mixed media.

The “XIII. Death” reflects the archetypal meaning of Death not as an ending, but as a process of inner transformation. It speaks of the moment when an old image of oneself begins to dissolve — when familiar identities, roles, beliefs, and ways of being can no longer be carried forward. Death becomes a passage: a farewell to a former self and an opening toward what has not yet taken shape.

In its form, “XIII. Death” is both a watercolor piece and a metaphorical card inspired by Rorschach inkblots and other projective techniques. Observing the card invites viewers to encounter their own experience of change and loss — to acknowledge grief, remain with what is disappearing, and explore the inner transformation that can emerge through letting go.

Examining the lines, abstract strokes, and stains of paint can help relax and release the mind into a meditative state, potentially revealing answers or insights that were not previously obvious.
